Cincon’s new CQB quarter brick series will keep you on track

Cincon power bricks for rail applicationsCincon’s new quarter size brick railway series - including 150W and 50W variants - is designed for the demanding needs and requirements of the rail industry, with full compliance to the EN50155 Railway Standard for use on rolling stock, and EN45545 Railway Standard for fire and smoke.

The new 150W quarter bricks provide outstanding power density with five output voltages including 5, 12, 24, 28 and 48VDC from wide 4:1 band of input voltages, from 43 to 160VDC. Combined with an efficiency rating of up to 92% and a 10mA no load power consumption, the 150W quarter brick series provides a versatile, efficient power converter solution for high-power rail applications.

Cincon recently enhanced its quarter brick railway offer with the new 50W series, which includes an ultra-wide 12:1 input range to cover input voltages from 14 to 160VDC. With an industry leading input range, Cincon’s new 50W quarter bricks cover all relevant railway operating voltages to provide 5, 12, 24 and 48VDC. Under no load power conditions, the 50W quarter bricks only use 5mA.

Designed for harsh environments

The potted and encapsulated design of Cincon’s quarter size bricks increases system reliability in harsh environments, with added protection from environmental factors such as dust and moisture. All variations of the CQB series can operate from -40°C to +105°C at a maximum relative humidity of 95% and are shock and vibration resistant.

As standard, the quarter bricks include 3kV isolation with remote on/off and ±10% adjustable output voltage functionality. Bricks can also be customised to meet the exact requirements of your application with many options available, including the addition of heat sinks to extend the full power range, changing pin lengths and adjusting isolation levels of the standard brick.
