Holographic light shaping diffusers (LSD) from Luminit offer excellent optical transmission between 300nm and 1500nm. Depending on the angle. LSD's achieve between 85 % and 92 % transmission. The low backscatter of the diffuser structure is anti-reflective and uses the light that would otherwise be lost in a Fresnel lens.
A standard piece of polycarbonate substrate is 89 % transmissive. Thanks to the special light shaping structure, the transmission is improved to 92%. The adjacent curve shows the transmission efficiency of a 10° diffusers, measured at the following wavelengths: 532nm – 90 %, 632nm - 90%, 850nm - 89%, 980nm - 89%, 1064nm - 89%, 1550nm - 88% (UV transmitting diffusers are also available).
Available angles: LSD's shape, control and distribute light precisely. The circular angles of our diffusers range from 0.5° to 100°, the elliptical angles are available from 1° to 60° in the narrow and from 10° to 80° FWHM (full width at half maximum) in the wide orientation.
Uses and application areas: "Hotspots" and uneven light distribution are common problems with various light sources. The Light Shaping Diffusers provide uniform light in critical applications such as LCD backlights, LED displays, machine vision, automotive lighting, and displays.
