Interconnect – Fibre Optic Patch Cords
- Technology
- Fibre optic cables, connectors and assemblies
- Partner
- AC Photonics
The interconnect product range from AC Photonics is backed by use of high-quality fibre optic cables and connectors with a flexible approach to customised solutions whilst maintaining short lead-times.
The patch cords, sometimes referred to as optical fibre jumpers, are available using multi-mode (MM), single mode (SM) and polarisation maintaining (PM) fibres.
Standard connectors include FC, SC, ST, LC, MU in both simplex and duplex configuration. Special connectors (E-2000, F-3000 etc.) and PC/UPC/APC types are also readily available.

Range features
A high level overview of what this range offers
- High Return Loss (RL) and low Insertion Loss (IL) performance
- Stringent mechanical and environmental test conditions to ensure minimum loss variation
- Connector types: Polished Connector (PC), Ultra Polished Connector (UPC) and Angled Polished Connector (APC)
- Price / performance (reliability and stability) ratio cannot be compared to low-cost, sub-standard patch cables
- Typical uses where mission critical performance is essential include telecommunication systems, CATV networks, long-haul and core fibre optic networks
- PM connector axis alignment to slow axis, fast axis, slow axis 45° to key or key unlocked
- Pigtail styles to include bare fibre, 900 µm loose tube, 900 µm tight buffer or 1.6/2/3 mm jacket
