TEWA TT-O seriesThe demands harsh environments place on components often necessitate rigid designs, however the applications these components are used in can vary greatly. The TEWA TT-O series is one of the most resilient temperature probes available anywhere in the world, yet it offers almost endless customisation options, without any detriment to its outstanding performance.

Part of TEWA’s TT-series of temperature sensors and thermistors, the TT-O is a totally waterproof temperature probe, able to operate from temperatures as low as -50°C up to 105°C. It’s resistance to the elements is second to none, with full IP68* ingress protection on the International Protection Rating. Hermetically sealed, the sensor is both water resistant and dust tight, allowing it to be totally submerged in ice, water and even steam.

The TT-O uses overmoulding technology to encapsulate the sensitive elements in protective thermoplastic elastomer materials, providing excellent protection to moisture. This insulation can be single, double and even triple layered to offer additional protection and reliability without any impact to the sensors accuracy.

This protection is available in a range of colours, allowing it to be tailored to a specific customer application and can even adding further benefits, such as greater UV protection when coated in black insulation. Marking of components is also available.

The probe itself is available in range of sizes and tolerances, from just 4.5mm in diameter. This allows it to be used in designs where space is at a premium, such as compact restrictions or the need for multiple probes in a given area. There are also a range of resistance values, with NTC, PTC, PtRTD, KTY versions available.

Transferring data is a choice of cable options; both TPE single (flat) and double (round) insulated cables can be had in a range of colours and lengths. Rigid cable options are available whilst both single and double options retain flexibility to the sensor’s minimum operating temperature.

The TT-O series is ROHS compliant and halogen free and can be found in thousands of applications around the world today. From refrigeration applications (evaporator) to industrial process control, air conditioning and climate control systems to under floor heating, the flexibility and resilience of the TT-O sensors makes it the perfect solution to consistently provide accurate temperature data, regardless of specification and application.

*IP68 - Immersion beyond 1m - The equipment is suitable for continuous immersion in water under conditions which shall be specified by the manufacturer. Normally, this will mean that the equipment is hermetically sealed. However, with certain types of equipment, it can mean that water can enter but only in such a manner that it produces no harmful effects. Dust Tight - No ingress of dust; complete protection against contact.
