Luminit's large selection of light diffuser materials, angles and formats are ideal to shape light for architectural, bio-medical, semiconductor metrology, aerospace, automotive, machine vision / auotmation, laser and display applications.

Light shaping diffusers

Luminit’s diffuser sheets and films “clean up” and shape light beams, with 85% to 92% transmission efficiency.

Their patented technology shapes light energy with holographic patterns embedded on polycarbonate film or rigid sheets, creating a pseudo-random surface that can manipulate light by changing the direction of its energy.

Volumetric light shaping diffusers

Luminit’s volumetric light shaping diffusers incorporate technology that offers high optical efficiency and excellent hiding power with prices as low as thin film.

Volumetric light shaping diffusers can be produced with a wide range of diffusion angles, offering optical efficiency at 60-80% lower cost than standard rigid light shaping diffusers and are easily thermoformed.

Directional turning film

Luminit directional turning_film.

Directional turning film offers a simple solution to display and lighting challenges offering engineers more beam control and ability to produce dramatic results.

Luminit’s directional turning film includes microscopic, asymmetrical prismatic structures embedded on the film that change the light beam direction, directing the light beam toward specific spaces, enhancing lighting in targeted areas and redirect pool lighting for redirecting uniform coverage.

  • Substrate: 0.010 polycarbonate
  • Transmission spectral range: 400 to 800nm
  • Temperature range: -30 to 80°C @ 240hrs
  • DTF and LSD can be combined to shift the light from 20° and diffuse light with adequate LSD angle

Batwing diffusers

Luminit’s lenticular batwing diffusers are a double-sided, single-film solution that dramatically increases the light distribution of linear light fixtures, incorporating a light shaping diffuser on one side and a prismatic structure on the other side.

Luminit’s unique design spreads the peak distribution away from the centre, while eliminating hot spots and reducing glare for more aesthetic and human-centric lighting conditions.

Glare control panels

Luminit’s glare control panels are rigid panels that incorporate prisms to suppress high angle rays and significantly reduce glare where glare control standards must be met and where human-centric lighting is critical.

Their glare control panels incorporate a three-dimensional structure that can be combined with Luminit’s 80˚ diffuser film to enable uniform-looking light fixtures.

Transparent holographic components

Luminit’s transparent holographic components are designed for the automotive and wearables industries for head-up, helmet-mounted, or near-to-eye display systems.

Their transparent holographic components provide display brightness that is up to 10 times higher than conventional systems, these highly efficient components enable designers to increase virtual image sizes, reduce weight, offer more flexibility in packaging design, and reduce power consumption due to increased efficiency.
